Description
Systematic study of resonance production is important for understanding the effects of quark gluon plasma formation produced in collisions of heavy ions. Resonances have a wide variety of properties, such as their short lifetimes, different masses and quark content. Their production is affected by distinct stages of the heavy ion collisions such as effects of rescattering and regeneration during the hadronic gas phase; the baryon excessive yields at intermediate transverse momentum; flavor dependence of parton energy loss at high momentum and other effects.
In this study, we present results of feasibility studies for measurement of production of phi(1020)- and charged K*(892)-mesons and charged Sigma(1385)-baryons in the MPD experimental at NICA accelerator in collisions of bismuth nuclei at sqrt(sNN) = 9.2 GeV. The results were obtained by model calculations using the Monte Carlo method for nuclei collisions and simulation of the MPD detector.
